„IT REMAINS IN A LEAGUE OF ITS OWN… Communist reality merges with horror reality in the spookiest film to emerge from the former Soviet bloc.“ — Blu-ray.com
From Juraj Herz – the award-winning writer/director of MORGIANA, THE NINTH HEART, THE CREMATOR and subversive genius of the Czech New Wave – comes the disturbing shocker driven by cultural provocation, political paranoia and a supercharged take on the vampire mythos, now on disc for the first time ever in America: When Ferat Motors introduces a new high-performance sports car, a trauma doctor investigates a bizarre theory that the vehicle is a biological machine fueled by human blood. Jirí Menzel (director of the Oscar®-winning CLOSELY WATCHED TRAINS), Dagmar Havlová (former First Lady of the Czech Republic) and the iconic Škoda 110 Super Sport star in this “deeply weird horror thriller with sci-fi overtones and a touch of Cronenberg” (House of Self Indulgence), restored from the best existing 35mm elements by Národní Filmový Archiv and Severin Films with over 5 hours of new & archival Special Features curated exclusively for this release.
*All foreign-language featurettes are subtitled in English.
