RE:VOIR is a label that publishes and distributes DVDs of classic and contemporary experimental cinema. Our catalogue includes over seventy titles: films from the Dadaist, Surrealist and Letterist movements, films from the American avant-garde, diary films, arthouse features, animated works and hand-painted films.
We are devoted to giving a wider audience access to a relatively unknown yet rich and diverse body of cinema, and to disseminating the major works of experimental film at the highest possible quality. Each release receives rigorous attention and extensive preparation, and yields an object of enduring integrity and quality for collection, discovery, and reflection.
Our DVDs are accompanied by booklets containing explanatory texts, sometimes including unpublished articles and interviews with the filmmaker, which can sometimes take the form of an entire book. We offer these elements to allow the audience to properly contextualize the film, as with the releases of „Walden“ and „Lost Lost Lost“ by Jonas Mekas, „Le Révélateur“ by Philippe Garrel, „Venom and Eternity“ by Isidore Isou and „Rameau’s Nephew“ by Michael Snow.
